WHOA!
I just got a call from Alex (DJ Shy Guy) saying that my album art is DONE. Which means that my Mini-album-mix-thing is SO CLOSE TO DROPPING! All the mixing is done... all I have to do is get the art from him tonight and zip that shit. Yes. Keep in tune here and on twatter for the drop.Other big news... I'm moving Skittles&Tits (and renaming it... since the "kibbles and bits" reference is so often missed) to a new URL and its going to be a small part of something significantly bigger and better... the rest I can't tell you, but you'll see. Here's a hint.
Aside from working on music and giving a helping hand to these dudes and this dude, I've really been taking it easy as I can.
Catchdubs B-day was a great (Bulgarian) time. My highlight being Trizzy spinning the Bow...Bow...chickahchickah song from Ferris Bueler (photos^v: Caroline FM)

NICK CATCHDUBS BIRTHDAY TONIGHT // FLASHING LIGHTS

Cubic Zirconia killed it the other night at The Studio... Skyephone pics for ya.
Now they're headed to the UK.
Today I found some gems (and Jemz) in Michna's CD collection. Can't believe I ever forgot about Second Cousins. Shit is timeless... highly recommended.
And it was 49 degrees today? Today was a good day.

Ahh its good to be back. Been listening to a TON of late 90s/early 00 hip-hop. I can't deny that I love that shit (why would I?). I went to Good Times the other night and heard "what it is" from the Violater 2.0 album and went bananas. Love that shit. I've always been on some rap... but the music I produce is undeniably post-rap (coined) and I love 80s music and some electro-house-D&B shit and some Joni Mitchel shit... soooooo that EP turned minimix is awaiting a listening form these dudes and this dude before it drops. Stay in tune... I promise only the best, its just taking a minute.
THIS is my shit. Mother country food kills it. I'm on that kielbasa & meatball diet.
Eggs benedict and lox? I don't even like food homie. Why am I blogging about this??

Spentz for President... after Obamas 8 yrs is up ofcourse (almost cried today). Went to Plan B tonight to celebrate inauguration. Starting a mariachi band... Lloydski on guitar. Skye on smaller mariachi guitar (what is that shit called?) and Scott long on the mariachi drums? Taking over New York.

FINE in 09: Cubic Zirconia
First of all... Bodymore & Birthdays tonight.
Now. Alongside Mobroder(see previous previous previous post), Cubic Zirconia is another group lined up to kill it in the 09. I ran into these dudes practicing in Dumbo today on a mission to pick up some flyers. Shit looked poppin and I got to hear some drum tracks and some fucking with delay pedals (I feel you), but the guitarist was absent... so no private performance for me. You can check Nick Hook on TurntableLab LA Radio w/ Blu Jemz. (Itunes>Radio>Dance>Turn...). Come check their premiere at the Studio (Webster Hall) with Michna. Also, CZ will open for Diplo on Valentines Day. And the Cubic Zirconia blog.

Okay. So. I'm back on line after... a LOT of things. Ive been working on music and all that shit the whole time. SO. Dont even watch my deadlines when I call them... Just stay tuned and things will drop and be better than expected. Now with the guidance of a few geniuses (could name drop). But things are being PERFECTED.

Important in 2009: What is Mobroder?
Happy Early Birthday to Blu Jemz! Check him at RCRDLBL. His party is tomorrow @ 87 Ludlow where the legendary MOBRODER will premiere. (Unfortunately, I will be in the South living cheaply, forgetting how to read, and being the only person that knows what twitter is). Highly recommended. 
Those that listen to Mark Ronson's EVR show Authentic Shit every friday night or Jemz' show on Scion Radio have heard of the majestic mystery that is... MOBRODER.
So who/what exactly is Mobroder?
Mobroder is a Disco super-group featuring MC Spank Rock, producer/MC Blu Jemz , and DJ Hoff.
Jemz states, "Hoff and I have been working on a Mix CD with Spank Rock called Mobroder which is basically like the trials and tribulations of the Black Moroder, I think it’s gonna be epic, so of course it’s taking forever."
Of the first performance of this supergroup, he states, "I'm even going to be up there playing bass or some shit".
Sounds epic.
Meanwhile, my ass is down here trying to get music shit done with broken head-phones and none of the conveniences of my set-up in W Village. The EP that I promised to be done by 1/1 has been thrown to "sometime in the future" and is being replaced by a Mini-mini-mini Mix that has none of my 80s new-wavish-disco shit on it... it sounded too much like a mix and not an album. That soon. Perhaps today. I miss New York.
